Many people have been asking which Beachbody workout program is best – P90X or Insanity? I’m not sure when this became a contest but I do realize that most folks are looking to buy only one workout program at a time. However, the truth is, both are fantastic workout programs and which one you choose depends on your personal fitness and your individual fitness goals.

The PX90 Workout (or properly referred to as the P90X workout) focuses on building muscle and toning your abs. You can get really ripped with this workout. It has a lot of pull ups and push ups which are challenging but there are work arounds provided. You don’t need to be at a top level of fitness to do this workout. It’s a 90 day program and is very well balance between resistance, cardio and yoga/stretching.

The Insanity workout I think of as a high octane workout. These are really intense cardio workouts. There is a little resistance workout, but not like P90X. The focus of this workout program is to super charge your overall fitness – especially your speed and cardio vascular fitness. It’s high impact as well so if you have bad knees, you probably should not do this workout. It will burn the fat off of you over its 60 day run.

What I have decided to do is P90X followed by a second round of P90X with a little Insanity worked in. That way I get the best of both worlds.
