Small and Subtle Post Caps |
Post caps come in a great deal of sizes, shapes, and styles. As a garden designer, I would not design a deck or fence without them. They are a very attractive detail to make outdoor living every bit as charming as the inside of a client’s home. However, too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
I don’t want the caps to take away from the landscaping, the container gardens or even the furniture. The 4″x4″ post cap is the perfect size for most fences and decks. The safety feature of having the post covered is taken care of. The finished look of covering the post is taken care of. This particular size post cap keeps all finishing touches in perspective.
I stated earlier that I would not design a fence without fence caps. However, some clients get short on cash towards the end of a project. Fence caps are an item that can be added at a later date to give the fence an outstanding look. To me, fence caps are very similar to crown molding. Not all homes have crown molding, but it sure is a pretty decorative element.
